Seven Sayings Of The Saviour On The Cross, The
The death of Christ was unique, not only in its
redemptive purpose but also in the wonderful
character displayed by the Son of God in his final
hours.
Despite the terrible punishment of the cross, he
was alert and strong - giving up his life rather
than his life being taken away from him.
He was a true Saviour - even giving comfort to a
fellow-sufferer and promising him paradise.
He showed loving concern for his mother, for John,
the disciple; and he prayed for those who had
persecuted him.
Through it all, we can see how human he was in
his needs; and yet how gloriously victorious was
this death.
His last words are a comfort and a challenge.
Having done everything he, the Creator of life,
puts his life in God's hands.
